February, 9,2001, 13 students, two teachers, and 20 sailors had ridden on "Ehimemaru" They departed from the Uwajima harbor early in January. Then they were performing fishery laboratory and conducting resources investigation of a tuna off the coast of Hawaii. On the other hand, "Greenville" was the nuclear submarine of newest which it is U.S.A proud of. They were the middles of finishing usual operations and returning to Pearl Harbor with a base. Neither the weather nor a field of view was bad at broad daylight. However, the submarine and "Ehimemaru" under surfacing collide and the sea gave up the crew of “Ehimemaru”. The crew of a submarine could not rescue. It is because there was no tool for rescuing. After all, it became the large disaster of taking out nine persons` missing person.
