The first effect is the improvement of memory and intelligence. The original experiment was published in the journal Nature by scientists at the University of California in 1993. It reported that 36 college students showed an increase on spatial reasoning scores from subtests of the Stanford-Binet Scale of Intelligence after listening to a Mozart piano sonata compared to either the relaxation tape or silence.
